Privacy policy
1. Who we are
GramSeva Mitra is part of GramSeva, a local-first effort to help people find nearby service workers so trust and work can stay in the community. This policy describes how we handle information when you use the GramSeva Mitra mobile app.
2. What the app does
GramSeva Mitra helps people find local service workers (for example plumbers, electricians). You can use voice to say what you need, see matching workers, call them, or send a job request after signing in with your mobile number. Workers can register a public profile so others can find them.
3. What information we collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may process:

| Account / profile | If you register as a worker: name, trade, area, optional photo link, optional short text — stored so others can find and contact you. |
| Job requests | When signed in, saving a request to a worker stores who asked, which worker, and related details so the request can work. |
| Technical data | App version, device type, and similar data may be processed by our service providers for security and reliability. |
We design the app to not ask for more data than needed for these features.
4. How we use information
- To provide matching, calling, job requests, and worker profiles.
- To protect the service (for example preventing abuse).
- To follow the law if required.
We do not sell your personal information to data brokers.
5. Who we share data with (service providers)
The app uses services that may process data on our instructions:
- Google Firebase — phone sign-in (SMS), account security.
- Supabase — database hosting for workers and job requests.
- Groq — turning short voice recordings into text for matching.
These providers have their own privacy policies. We choose them to run the product; we do not control their infrastructure.
6. Where data is stored
Data may be processed or stored on servers outside India (for example in regions used by Firebase, Supabase, or Groq). We use providers that are common for apps; if you need country-specific guarantees, contact us at the email above.
7. How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as needed to run the service or as required by law. You may ask us questions or requests about your data using the contact email; some records may need to be kept for legal or safety reasons.
8. Your choices
- You can stop using the app at any time.
- You can ask questions or requests about your data using privacy@gramsevamitra.com.
- Microphone: you can deny mic permission; then voice search will not work until you allow it in device settings.
9. Children
The app is not intended for children under the age required by law in your country. We do not knowingly collect data from young children.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the “Last updated” date at the top. For important changes, we may also show a notice in the app or on our website.
